The Accountancy Board of Ohio is the state government agency established by the Ohio General Assembly in 1908 to regulate the practice of public accounting in Ohio. The Board is responsible for examining and licensing certified public accountants, licensing the remaining public accountants, registering public accounting firms and enforcing the provisions of Chapter 4701 of the Ohio Revised Code as passed by the General Assembly and Chapter 4701 of the Ohio Administrative Code as adopted by the Board.
Job DescriptionThe Certification/Licensure Examiner 2 plays an integral role at the board. The job duties of the Certification/Licensure Examiner 2 will include the following:
- Enter relevant information into the data management system (eLicensing)
- Issue licenses and/or certificates
- Explain programs to licensees/certificate holders and the public
- Obtain and process information for licensure and/or certification renewal
- Handle routine correspondence from licensees/certificate holders
- Update the data management system (eLicensing) to generate licenses/certificates
- Provide information and assistance to general public and licensees to aid in processing license applications
- Prepare correspondence for distribution to licensees
- Compile rosters, pass/fail lists or appropriate licenses for distribution to licensees
- Review applications for follow-up and/or investigation and make recommendations to enforcement staff
- Answer telephone inquiries concerning certification/licensure and testing process, laws and regulations
- Gather and analyze data and compile reports
- Research relevant databases outside of eLicensing for all license and certification information
- Perform a variety of duties relating to prospective and/or current licensees or certificate holders
- Serve as first point of contact to represent the Accountancy Board of Ohio to internal and external customers
- Perform other duties as assigned

- OR 2 years training or 2 years experience in clerical/secretarial or other administrative support position involving public contact & preparation of correspondence & reports AND 1 course or 3 months experience in typing, word processing or data entry using video display terminal.
- OR 12 months experience as Certification/Licensure Examiner 1, 16841.
- OR equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
