- Under the direction of the Administrative Officer 3 within the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) Investigations Office, collects, analyzes & converts intelligence information gathered from diverse sources into actionable intelligence & provides real time information to BMV personnel engaged in on going investigations:
- Independently reviews & analyzes online & in person transactions sent from agency personnel, the public & other affected parties or agencies related to Ohio BMV credential fraud or vulnerabilities;
- Utilizes Law Enforcement Automated Data System (LEADS), social media accounts, informational databases, spreadsheets, reports &/or other sources for monitoring & assessing the development of fraud or potential criminal activity;
- Researches & analyzes data trends in order to identify patterns of fraud or fraud vulnerability & suspect activity in support of BMV, law enforcement & public safety investigations;
- Coordinates research activities with other departmental units &/or outside agencies;
Requests acquisition of needed data to complete a particular file, case, or subject.
36 mos. exp conducting research & writing reports using operational, mathematical, analytical &/or statistical research techniques.
Option 2- Or completion of undergraduate core program in homeland security, political science, criminal justice, emergency management, public health, international affairs or related field;
AND 12 mos. exp. conducting research & writing reports using operational, mathematical, analytical &/or statistical research techniques.
- Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
