Program Administrator
Works under general direction and requires general supervisory principles and techniques, agency policies and extensive knowledge of the agency classification system reviews and makes determinations related to all aspects of the classification process including working with reception centers, institutions to schedule transfers, process classification instruments, separations, review and determine outcomes of protective control hearings. Responsible for reviewing and determining outcomes of appeals to classification, job assignments, protective control hearings;
serves as liaison between the Bureau Chief and representatives of other states who have entered into a compact agreement with Ohio and drafts reports, responds to correspondence related to incarcerated people transferred between Ohio and other compact states. Receives and responds to telephone calls, kites, e-mail messages and mail from interested parties (e.g. incarcerated persons, family members, clergy, special organizations, legislative liaison, prosecutors, various law enforcement, wardens and other DRC staff) regarding placement or movement of incarcerated persons.
Responsible for providing advice and directions to wardens and other Institution staff; writes and/or reviews communication written by staff prior to signing; formulates, reviews, modifies and implements policies. Attends meetings, training courses and conferences and may be required to give presentations and conduct training, respond both verbally and in writing to questions and concerns, work on special projects and or committees as assigned.
Responsible for conducting site visits if required based on number or severity of issues at any particular Institution, meets with Institution staff and incarcerated persons, submits site visit reports, identifies and graphs trends, develops appropriate recommendations for action, interviews incarcerated persons and Staff Works with Bureau of Classification Chief to adjust living unit capacity, represents Bureau Chief at meetings and conferences with various agencies regarding DRC classification program and procedures.

Qualifications:
5 yrs. trg. or 5 yrs. exp. in business administration, management or public administration.
-Or completion of undergraduate core program in business administration, management or public administration; 36 mos. trg. or 36 mos. exp. in supervisory, administrative &/or managerial position.
-Or completion of undergraduate core program for academic field of study commensurate with program area to be assigned per approved Position Description on File; 36 mos. trg. or 36 mos. exp. in supervisory, administrative, managerial &/or staff position involving planning, research &/or policy/procedure development.
-Or 1 yr. exp. as Program Administrator 2, 63123.
-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above. Job
