We are seeking a Medical Assistant who will serve as a key clinical support role for our new Primary Care office. The MA is responsible for assisting providers with patient care, performing clinical procedures, and supporting daily operations to ensure a smooth and efficient experience for both patients and staff. As a frontline member of the care team, the Medical Assistant plays a crucial role in delivering compassionate, high-quality care and maintaining a professional, patient-centered environment.

Medical

Assistant (MA) Responsibilities
  • Field questions and e-mails/texts from all Primary Care Providers
  • Answer calls and handle patient/family complaints
  • Upload new patient face sheet to billing company and compile accurate and verified insurance information
  • Assist with EMR issues and EMR tasks as needed
  • Obtain and record patient vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints.
  • Prepare examination rooms and assist providers during patient examinations and procedures.
  • Administer injections, perform phlebotomy, and conduct basic laboratory tests as directed.
  • Schedule patient appointments, referrals, and follow-up visits, ensuring continuity of care.
  • Manage and update patient records in the EMR system accurately and promptly.
  • Educate patients on medication instructions, preventive care, and post-visit guidelines.
  • Maintain inventory of medical supplies and ensure equipment is sanitized and functioning properly.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and clinic policies to ensure patient and staff safety
QUALIFICATIONS Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Certification/Licensure
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
  • CPR Certification preferred.
Experience

Prior primary care experience preferred but not required

  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel)
  • Efficient and accurate typing skills
  • Preferred
    - Athena Health EMR System proficiency
