Job Description

What You Will Do at ODM:

Job Overview: The Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) is seeking a Dashboard Accessibility Analyst to ensure all public-facing dashboards and visualizations meet WCAG 2.1 AA and ADA accessibility standards. This role is critical in making data visualizations accessible to all users by embedding alt text, managing accessibility processes, and monitoring compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accessibility Compliance:
    Ensure dashboards and visualizations meet WCAG 2.1 AA and ADA standards.
  • Alt Text Development:
    Write and embed clear, meaningful alt text for all dashboard visualizations.
  • Accessibility Reviews:
    Review dashboards for compliance and usability; identify and recommend improvements.
  • Documentation:
    Develop guidelines, checklists, and best practices for creating accessible dashboards.
  • Collaboration:

    Work with Data Analysts, Developers, Designers, and Content Creators to integrate accessibility features.
  • Operational Support:
    Provide guidance to staff on accessibility standards and practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of WCAG 2.1 AA standards, ADA compliance, and accessibility principles.
  • Familiarity with data visualization software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Qlik).
