Job Description

Title:

Corrections Health Unit - PCU (Progressive Care Unit)

Schedule:

- Shift structure: 12-hour D/N rotating

Assignment Details:
- Census/Beds: 36 beds/rooms

Requirements:
- Minimum years of experience: 2 years
- Previous charge experience: preferred
- Oncology experience: preferred but not required
- Required certification: BLS

- Experience with EPIC documentation is required

Roles & Responsibilities :
- Provide patient care in a locked corrections unit setting, managing complex healthcare needs of inmates.
- Monitor and assess patients with active oncology diagnoses, including management of chemotherapy and oncology workups.
- Administer medications and treatments per protocols and provide intravenous (IV) therapy, including blood product administration and care of peripheral, central lines, and PICC lines.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for patient care, including respiratory therapy and pharmacy.
- Respond to medical emergencies following established protocols, including rapid response team participation.

Compliance / Notes:
- Orientation: 72 hours
- Strict credentialing/fingerprinting timeline required; candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting as soon as contract is signed.
- COVID-19 vaccine not required; flu vaccine is required with medical exemptions only.
- References: 2 professional references required; at least 1 must be a manager/director.
