The Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) is recruiting for Health Systems Innovation Section Chief to direct activities to advance ODM’s Quality and Population Health Strategy through strategic partnerships with managed care plans, hospital systems, and university academic centers. As the selected candidate you will perform the following job duties:
- Supervises lower-level supervisors (e.g., directs work, establishes section goals in accordance with bureau and agency goals and objectives)
- Directs the development and implementation of ODM overall health system initiatives and evaluations, including the Statewide Hospital System Learning Networks, State Directed Payment Program, and Medicaid Technical Assistance and Policy Program (MEDTAPP).
- Oversees quality improvement programs that incentivize better outcomes, establishing accountability structures, communication strategies, and technical assistance for health systems.
- Directs health policy research and evaluation for value-based improvement initiatives, such as the Next Generation Managed Care Program Evaluation
- Develop strategies to evaluate individual hospital performance and program impact on statewide health outcomes.
- Serves as a liaison with agency representatives, providers, advocates, and other stakeholders to foster strong partnerships.
The preferred candidate will have knowledge of health research, learning networks, value-based arrangements, and quality improvement science. Completion of graduate core program in business, management or public administration, public health, health administration, social or behavioral science or public finance; 36 months experience in planning & administering health services program or health services project management (e.g., health care data analysis, health services contract management, health care market & financial expertise;
health services program communication; health services budget development, HMO & hospital rate development, health services eligibility, health services database analysis).
- Or 12 months experience as a Medicaid Health Systems Administrator 2, 65296.
