Registered Respiratory Therapist - Adult Critical Care - Auto offer

Location: Columbus, OH

Start Date: 04-06-2026

End Date: 07-06-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Night, 3x12-Hour shifts per week, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (nights; exact days vary; weekends required)

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Manage mechanical ventilation and perform ventilator checks to optimize patient breathing
  • Perform airway management including suctioning, oral/nasal airway placement, and tracheostomy care
  • Administer respiratory medications and manage medication delivery systems safely
  • Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) to guide ventilator and therapy adjustments
  • Operate and troubleshoot GE ventilators and other respiratory equipment;
    Hamilton ventilators preferred experience
  • Deliver noninvasive support including BiPAP, CPAP, and high flow nasal cannula therapy
  • Assist with weaning from mechanical ventilation and respond to high-pressure alarm situations
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and document patient care plans
Qualifications
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred;
    Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) considered
  • Active Ohio state respiratory license required
  • BLS and ACLS preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience, ideally in adult critical care
  • High school diploma plus college diploma or transcripts required
  • Previous travel experience preferred but not required
Education
  • High School Diploma required
  • College diploma and/or transcripts required
  • RRT or CRT credentialing as applicable (RRT preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
  • Ventilator management and weaning strategies
  • Experience with GE ventilators; familiarity with Hamilton ventilators a plus
  • Airway management, suctioning, and tracheostomy care
  • Interpretation of ABGs and application to clinical decision making
  • Medication administration relevant to respiratory care and inhaled therapies
  • High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), BiPAP, CPAP, nebulizers, and oxygen therapy
  • Troubleshooting ventilator alarms and respiratory equipment
  • Adult critical care environment and emergency airway management
