Scope of Position

The Wexner Medical Center Gabbe Well-Being Office serves the employees and trainees of the Wexner Medical Center and College of Medicine. The Gabbe Well-Being Office Program Coordinator will serve as a prominent “face of well‑being” across the organization and will contribute to the execution of Gabbe Well‑Being Office programs and events. The Program Coordinator will function in a broad range of duties that support the strategic goals of the Gabbe Well‑Being Office.

Summary

At the direction of the OSUWMC Gabbe Well-Being Office Leadership team, the Program Coordinator will round on medical center units and at Central Ohio ambulatory sites with the Wellness Cart both proactively and by request to offer employees and trainees the opportunity to take a break, enjoy a treat, learn about current programs, activities, and wellness opportunities at OSUWMC/COM, and engage in casual conversation that supports a culture of well‑being.

The Program Coordinator will work to build and maintain positive rapport with employees and learners across the Medical Center and College of Medicine, leveraging skills to provide emotional support and engage with them about successes and challenges/pain points in their daily work. The Program Coordinator will compile and convey relevant themes from these conversations to the Gabbe Well-Being Office Leadership team for the purpose of additional resource deployment and program improvement.

The Program Coordinator will provide some administrative support for the Gabbe Well-Being Office sponsored Mindfulness in Motion (MIM 30) Program that is offered to OSUWMC/COM employees and learners. Other activities include engaging in training to become a Brief Emotional Support Team (BEST) peer supporter through the OSU Stress, Trauma and Resilience (STAR) Program, participating in orientation to become a Buckeye Wellness Innovator (BWI) for the organization, and hosting tables at wellness fairs and/or giving presentations as needed to share well‑being resources.

While this is primarily a 1st shift position, the person in this role will occasionally round in the evenings to serve 2nd and 3rd shift employees as well.

Minimum Education & Experience Required

Bachelor's Degree in Allied Medicine, Health Education, Public Health or related field. 4 years of relevant experience required. 4–8 years of relevant experience preferred.
