Job OverviewThe IV Pharmacy Technician is responsible for supporting the IV Manager in the daily operations of the Infusion department. This includes adhering to the company’s quality and customer service standards, policies and procedures, and complying with both state and federal guidelines. Experience with elastomeric pumps is preferred.
Key Responsibilities Are But Not Limited To- Filling IV orders, including mixing IV medications, calculating doses mathematically, and applying all necessary sterile techniques.
- Sending supplies and equipment to facilities.
- Maintaining accurate IV mixing records.
- Performing regular cleaning and maintenance checks on all equipment.
- Programming all infusion pumps.
- Entering data for all applicable IV orders.
- Ordering supplies from various vendors.
- Performing other tasks as required.
- Completing technician assignments as requested by pharmacy management.
- Maintaining all IV pharmacy-related equipment and supplies in the equipment rental log.
- Actively contributing to the evaluation and continuous improvement of client services, policies, and procedures.
- Assisting with ensuring safety policies and procedures are practiced and adhered to.
- Participating in special projects aimed at identifying and implementing operational improvements.
- Collaborating with others in a positive and productive manner, anticipating and responding to the responsibilities of the position.
- 8am-4:30pm Monday
- Friday and Every other Weekend - 6pm-2:30am Monday
- Friday and Every other Weekend - 12/hour Weekend Shifts (every weekend)
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Current National/State Pharmacy Certification required.
- Previous IV experience REQUIRED.
- Basic computer knowledge and skills required.
- Basic understanding of medical terminology, math, and analytical skills.
- Previous pharmacy technician experience preferred, with sterile compounding experience being an advantage.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written English.
