Registered Nurse​/Medical Surgical Oncology

BMT(14 & 15W James) - Oncology / Mixed acuity PCU and MS unit

Experience:

Must have MS and oncology experience in checklist (1 year minimum). Heme Onc experience is strongly preferred. Chemo certification is NOT required

If you accept a 12D/N rotating contract, you may be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination of both, depending on the department s needs. Shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period, but changes are not guaranteed and are based on staffing priorities at that time.

" Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL)
" Acute Myeloid Leukemia (Adult)
" Amyloidosis
" Aplastic Anemia
" Chronic Leukemia
" Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL)
" Chronic Myeloid (Myelogenous) Leukemia
" Hodgkin's Lymphoma
" Multiple Myeloma
" Myelodysplastic Syndrome
" Myeloproliferative Disorders
" Non-Hodgkin s Lymphoma
Special Procedures/Unit Details:
" Autologous Transplants:
Patients receive their own stem cells.
" Syngeneic Transplants:
Patients receive stem cells from their identical twin.
" Allogeneic Transplants:
Patients receive stem cells from their sibling, parent, or an unrelated donor.
" CAR-T Therapy

Certifications

" Basic Life Support (BLS)

" Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy Certification

Skills Required:

" MS/Tele (Medical-Surgical/Telemetry)
" Telemetry monitoring
" Interpretation of dysrhythmias
" Use of Rapid Response Teams
" Feeding tube care and management
" Blood product administration
" Central line blood draw
" Peripheral line care/management
" PICC line management
" Nasal cannula administration
