Title
Registered Nurse - Surgical Oncology

Schedule

- Shift: 12-hour days/nights rotating

Assignment Details
- Assignment type: 16-week travel contract

Requirements
- License:
Valid compact or state RN license

- Certifications:

BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; ONS Chemo preferred

- Experience:

Minimum of 2 years RN experience; at least 1 year of current specialty (PCU/surgical oncology) experience within the most recent 3 years
- EMR: EPIC

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a surgical oncology and PCU setting.
- Administer chemotherapy and manage oncologic emergencies.
- Monitor telemetry and manage dysrhythmia recognition.
- Perform blood transfusions, IV antibiotic administration, and manage insulin and heparin drips.
- Conduct chest tube and tracheostomy care, emphasizing infection prevention and patient safety.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient care.

Compliance / Notes
- Orientation: 72 hours total, including 36 hours on-unit with a preceptor
- Flu vaccine:
Required (medical exemptions only)
- Background checks:
Strict compliance deadline Tuesday prior to start; urgent fingerprinting process for Ohio candidates
