Job Title: Mobility Aide
Department: Ambulatory Services | AMBULATORY HEALTHY COMMUNITIES
The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is committed to enhancing the quality of the experience provided to our patients. Education, communication and training is led by the Lead Mobility Aide of Ambulatory Rehabilitation. The Mobility Aide is a team member responsible for assisting patients navigation at our Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center within the Upper Arlington Bob Crane Community Center (BCCC) safely.
The Mobility Aide will work to assist patients requiring transportation or ambulatory assistance within and throughout the BCCC for scheduled appointments and/or program participation. The Mobility Aide will coordinate with all patient care practices and outreach programs;
The James Cancer Supportive Care Center, Physical Therapy, Center for Integrative Health, Exercise is Medicine, Parkinson’s Community Classes and more. This position works under the supervision of the BCCC Building Manager.
The Mobility Aide will undergo several training sessions and competencies. These training sessions will be performed by a licensed physical therapist. The mobility aide will need to perform transfers with patients independently. This includes but is not limited to: in and out of a car, in and out of a wheelchair, and in and out of our clinical furniture.
MinimumRequired Qualifications
High School graduate or equivalent. 0 years of relevant experience required. 0-2 years of relevant experience preferred. BLS preferred within 6 months of hire.
Additional InformationPosition is Monday through Friday, approximately 8:00 am-4:30 pm.
