Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated Formulation & Lab Support Technician to join a leading Life Sciences Research team supporting laboratory operations, formulation preparation, and analytical testing activities. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with laboratory experience or a scientific educational background to gain hands-on experience in a regulated research environment.
The successful candidate will support laboratory operations, prepare formulations and samples for analysis, maintain laboratory supplies and equipment, and ensure all work is documented in accordance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily laboratory operations and facility maintenance activities in compliance with GLP, ISO, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Perform laboratory housekeeping activities, including cleaning glassware, organizing work areas, and maintaining laboratory readiness.
- Receive, inspect, inventory, and stock laboratory supplies and materials.
- Prepare and handle formulations using a variety of vehicles and preparation techniques.
- Prepare chemistry samples for analysis utilizing wet chemistry techniques and established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with GLP guidelines.
- Follow all laboratory safety procedures, chemical hygiene requirements, and PPE protocols.
- Assist scientists and laboratory personnel with routine laboratory activities and assigned projects.
- Support shipping and receiving activities for laboratory materials and supplies.
- Work under the guidance of experienced scientific staff while developing technical laboratory skills.
- Associate degree in a scientific discipline OR
- Minimum one year of applicable laboratory or related experience OR
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to follow detailed procedures and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Basic technical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to successfully complete a medical screening, including:
- Wearing a respirator and other required PPE
- Lifting up to 50 pounds
- Working in proximity to hazardous chemicals
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Previous experience working in a laboratory environment.
- Experience using:
- Volumetric glassware
- Analytical balances
- Positive displacement pipettes
- Familiarity with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience handling chemicals and laboratory materials safely.
