Position Overview
The Division of Rehabilitation Psychology in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at The Ohio State University is hiring two Rehabilitation Psychologists. Candidates should have a strong background in working with patients with acquired disabilities from neurologic conditions or musculoskeletal injuries. Academic rank and track will be commensurate with academic record and experience.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe psychologist will primarily provide individual psychotherapy to optimize adjustment and coping. Additional clinical opportunities include outpatient psychotherapy with adults diagnosed with cancer, functional neurological disorders (FND), amputation, and burn injury. Responsibilities also include:
- Clinical evaluation and assessment following DSM‑5 and ICD‑10 guidelines.
- Individual and/or group psychotherapy.
- Contributing to training, research, and other scholarly pursuits.
- Participating in committees, conferences, professional meetings, and community speaking engagements.
- Practicing within the Medical Center’s policies, procedures, and protocols, and adhering to key performance areas.
- Successful completion of an APA‑accredited doctoral program in clinical or counseling psychology and an APA‑accredited internship.
- Post‑doctoral fellowship training in a healthcare or rehabilitation/medical setting is preferred.
- Board certified or eligible in Rehabilitation Psychology or Clinical Neuropsychology.
- Strong interest in academic medicine.
- The faculty rank will correspond to the candidate’s qualifications.
