The IRP-Allied Health team includes licensed or certified professionals (physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech/language pathologists) who work within a team structure to offer inpatient or outpatient rehabilitation services. These services are offered to the acute‑care hospital or outpatient service areas to patients with disorders and conditions associated primarily with orthopedic problems, stroke or other neurological disorders, general medical dehabilitating conditions, vascular repair or amputation, or musculoskeletal pain.
The IRP‑Allied Health team member with the working title of physical therapist (PT) reports to the director of rehabilitation services.
- Work within a multidisciplinary team to assess patients and establish plans of care together with the patient and other team members.
- Provide a wide variety of treatment techniques within the scope of the discipline.
- Provide education and support to patients and families.
- Facilitate continuing care planning.
- Ensure coordination of services and programs in appropriate interactions with other clinicians, nurses, and staff.
- Embody the Intensive Caring values—caring, respect, excellence, service, and teamwork—in all interactions.
- Minimum of a Baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution.
- License to practice physical therapy in the state of Ohio or current eligibility to take the licensure examination.
- Successful completion of an accredited physical therapy school clinical internship.
- One year of experience working in a medical setting is preferred.
Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check. A drug screen or physical may be required during the post‑offer process.
