Job Description Summary
Monitors and records data from medical equipment to ensure proper functioning and patient safety. Responsible for equipment maintenance.
OverviewNight shift
24 - 36 hours per week
Essential Functions- Maintain appropriate heart rhythm tracing.
- Recognize normal heart rhythm, artifact, and life‑threatening heart rhythms.
- Respond to all monitor alarms and report heart rhythm changes to RN or MD promptly.
- Clean, maintain, and inventory all equipment associated with cardiac monitors and other equipment as assigned.
- Precept new employees and educate other employees on correct usage of both telemetry and bedside monitors.
High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
Licensure Requirement(not specified)
CertificationsCurrent CPR certification (BLS-Health Care Provider), required.
Skills- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to identify abnormal rhythms and/or changes in rhythms preferred.
Previous health care experience as a Nursing Assistant, Unit Coordinator, Medical Assistant, nursing student, EMT, Medic, or experience with cardiology patients, required.
Physical RequirementsOccasionally: Computer skills, decision making; lifting/carrying 0–10 lbs, 11–20 lbs, 21–40 lbs; loud noises; machinery; patient equipment; problem solving; standing; walking.
