Position Overview
We are seeking a Clinical Psychologist for the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Health at The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center. This faculty position, open rank/track, specializes in suicide prevention and related areas. The psychologist will provide patient care, education, and research contributions within an interdisciplinary program.
Duties and Responsibilities- Provide clinical evaluation, assessment, and individual or group psychotherapy for patients with suicidal ideation, behaviors, and emotion regulation difficulties.
- Diagnose and treat mental health conditions using DSM‑5 and ICD‑10 criteria.
- Participate in patient care teams, collaborating with other providers and staff.
- Engage in teaching and training activities for trainees in psychology and medical programs.
- Conduct clinical research and contribute to scholarly projects linked to suicide prevention.
- Serve on committees, present at conferences, and represent the department in community speaking engagements.
- Adhere to Medical Center policies, procedures, protocols, and professional standards of practice.
- Appear for background checks and, if selected, complete any required drug screen or physical examination during the post‑offer process.
- Doctoral degree in psychology (clinical or counseling) from an APA‑ or CPA‑accredited program.
- State of Ohio licensure, or eligibility to obtain licensure.
- At least one year of post‑doctoral experience in a clinical setting, with preference for experience with suicidal thoughts, mood dysregulation, or trauma‑related disorders.
- Competent technical clinical skills, cognitive, and interpersonal abilities to serve patients needing the described services.
