Phlebotomist – We Train
We look for a patient, reliable person who welcomes donors and ensures their comfort and safety. The ideal phlebotomist is a self‑starter and committed to keeping donors comfortable and satisfied.
Qualifications:- High School diploma or GED
- Superior customer service standards
- Flexibility to work a flexible schedule
- Interest in making a difference in the world
- Obtains required state licensures or certifications where applicable
- Assist in determining the suitability of donors.
- Establish rapport with donors to ensure overall customer happiness while ensuring donor confidentiality.
- Respond to and assist with handling donor reactions.
- Monitor donor and equipment to ensure health of donors and quality of product.
- Set up, disconnect, and operate the automated plasmapheresis machines.
- Disconnect and dispose of all contaminated disposable equipment.
Work is performed in a plasma center. Exposure to biological fluids with potential exposure to infectious organisms; exposure to electrical office and laboratory equipment; exposure to extreme cold below 32 °F while working in a plasma freezer. Personal protective equipment (protective eyewear, garments, gloves, cold‑gear) required. Work is performed standing for 6‑8 hours per day; bending and twisting the neck and waist for 1‑2 hours per day;
frequent hand movements; ability to make fast, simple, precise coordinated movements; frequent foot movement; may squat, crouch or sit on heels; may walk up to 6‑8 hours per day; light lifting of 15 lbs. with a maximum lift of 50 lbs; may reach below shoulder height. Hearing acuity essential. Color perception/discrimination, near vision and far vision correctable in one eye to 20/30 and to 20/100 in the other eye.
Ability to comprehend and follow instructions and to perform within the guidance of oral or written instructions.
