Job Description What You'll Do

BHIW is seeking one (1) Health Planning Administrator 3 to direct statewide planning, administration, and evaluation of multiple injury and violence prevention programs. Job duties include:

  • Lead strategic planning for the Violence & Injury Prevention Section using state and federal data to guide priorities.
  • Direct development, implementation, and evaluation of statewide prevention programs (e.g., overdose, suicide, child injury, domestic violence and sexual assault, adult falls).
  • Develop and implement statewide policies, procedures, and guidelines; ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Use surveillance data and evaluation findings to support evidence‑based decision‑making and program improvements.
  • Oversee Violence and Injury Prevention teams, performance management and quality improvement processes; track key indicators and enhance program outcomes.
  • Develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate program and section budgets from multiple state, federal, and other diverse funding sources; provide oversight for grant administration activities.
  • Prepare and review reports, presentations, and documents for leadership, partners, and community stakeholders.
  • Act as liaison between the Ohio Department of Health and a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
