Medical Assistant, Part Time – Dermatology

• Assist with direct patient care and perform routine specialized medical procedures according to established clinical protocols
• Assist medical and nursing staff in examining and treating patients
• Room patients and measure and record vital signs, including height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration
• Complete patient interviews and histories
• Prepare patients for examinations, tests, and treatments and explain procedures
• Assist with physician-ordered procedures, examinations, treatments, and special tests
• Set up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms
• Collect blood, urine, and sputum samples
• Perform routine laboratory tests on patient samples

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Diploma from a Medical Assistant Program, or minimum of 1 year of medical assisting experience, or Military Medic training, or EMT-P (Paramedic) training, or equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education
• Medical Assistant Certification is preferred
• Medical assisting experience and education alternatives must total at least 1 year where applicable

Demonstrates proficiency in direct patient care, including vital sign measurement, specimen collection, and routine laboratory tests, while adhering to established clinical protocols. Possesses strong communication skills to effectively assist medical staff and explain procedures to patients.
