We are seeking a Compliance Specialist I!

The Compliance Specialist I supports the organization’s compliance program by assisting with incident reporting, policy and procedure maintenance, compliance documentation, and regulatory readiness activities. This position works under the direction of compliance leadership and partners with clinical, quality improvement, human resources, and operational teams to help ensure accurate documentation, timely follow-up, and alignment with applicable regulatory, accreditation, and program requirements.
The pay range for this position is $27.60 - $33.65 per hour based on experience, education, and/or licensure.
Essential Functions:
- Support the organization’s incident reporting process by assisting with incident reporting, documentation review, classification support, follow-up tracking, incident-related documentation, trend tracking, and closure of reported incidents.
- Maintain accurate and timely compliance documentation related to incident reports, investigations, incident corrective actions, regulatory submissions, and internal follow-up activities.
- Coordinate with clinical supervisors, program leaders, human resources, quality improvement, and other stakeholders to gather information, track assigned follow-up items, and support timely resolution of compliance matters.
- Assist with various compliance committee activities, including preparing materials, tracking policy review status, documenting decisions, organizing approvals, and maintaining policy governance records.
- Assist in maintaining the operational policy inventory, review schedules, policy repository, operation standardized templates, archived versions, and related documentation to support current and accessible policies and procedures.
- Assist with drafting, formatting, revising, routing, and communicating policies and procedures around compliance in partnership with compliance, clinical, administrative, billing, operations, and leadership teams.
- Support monitoring of applicable regulatory, accreditation, and program requirements, including OhioDBH, CARF, HRSA, HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and related standards, under the guidance of compliance leadership.
- Prepare and maintain reference documents, tracking logs, and communications related to incident reporting, compliance expectations, policy updates, and implementation requirements.
- Support broader compliance program activities, including regulatory readiness, internal documentation reviews, committee support, compliance education, data tracking, and preparation of reports or materials for leadership review.
- Travel within designated service areas.
- All other duties as assigned.
Education/Licensure:
- A high school degree or GED equivalent is required.
- A bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, public health, social work, nursing, human services, business administration, or a related field is required.
- A master’s degree in healthcare administration, public health, social work, nursing, law, or a related field is preferred.
- Healthcare compliance certification, such as CHC, CHPC, CPCO, or a comparable credential, is preferred.
- Certification of quality improvement methodologies, such as Lean, Six Sigma, or PDSA is preferred.
Experience:
- 2 years of experience in healthcare compliance, quality assurance, policy administration, healthcare operations, behavioral health, community health, or a related administrative function is required.
- Experience in behavioral health, healthcare, community health, FQHC, integrated care, or a nonprofit healthcare setting is preferred.
