Position: Medical Assistant (RT/GXMO)

We are a patient-centered urgent care and outpatient addiction treatment facility in Northwest Columbus, Ohio, committed to providing compassionate, high-quality care to our community. Our team combines the fast-paced environment of urgent care with the mission-driven work of Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), supporting patients through acute illness, injury, and their recovery journey.

Position Overview

We are seeking a part-time Medical Assistant to support our clinical team in both urgent care and addiction treatment settings. This role is ideal for an experienced MA who thrives in dynamic environments, values patient-centered care, and is interested in making a tangible difference in the lives of individuals seeking recovery and wellness.

Location: Columbus, OH

Compensation: $20–$40/hour, based on experience and licensure

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Support:

  • Operate X-ray equipment and assist with imaging procedures (for GXMO/RT licensed candidates)
  • Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints
  • Assist providers with exams, procedures, and minor surgical interventions
  • CLIA-waived testing (including rapid flu, COVID-19, strep, urinalysis, and urine drug screens)
  • Perform EKGs and prepare patients for diagnostic procedures

Urgent Care Workflow:

  • Manage patient flow in a fast-paced environment
  • Clean and restock exam rooms between patients
  • Assist with wound care, splinting, and minor procedures
  • Communicate test results and discharge instructions as directed

MAT Program Support:

  • Provide compassionate, non-judgmental care to patients in recovery
  • Support medication administration and adherence monitoring (within MA scope)
  • Assist with patient education and resource referrals
  • Maintain confidentiality and trauma-informed care practices

Documentation & Compliance:

  • Accurately document patient encounters in the Electronic Health Record (EHR)
  • Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations
  • Ensure infection control and safety protocols are followed
  • Assist with insurance verification, prior authorizations, and referrals as needed
Required Qualifications
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through an accredited program
  • Current BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Proficiency with EHR systems and medical documentation
  • Compassionate, professional demeanor with diverse patient populations
Preferred Qualifications
  • GXMO (General X-Ray Machine Operator) or RT (Radiologic Technologist) licensure in the State of Ohio (significantly increases compensation)
  • 1+ years of experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, or family medicine
  • Experience in behavioral health, addiction treatment, or MAT programs
  • Phlebotomy certification or demonstrated proficiency
  • Experience with Experity EMR or similar urgent care platforms
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
