Job Description

. This change reflects our continued commitment to providing comprehensive, person-centered care that addresses the full range of behavioral health needs for Ohioans. All positions and services now fall under the Ohio Department of Behavioral Health as we move forward in serving individuals, families, and communities across the state.

What you’ll do at DBH
  • Organizes, administers & directs clinical & administrative activities for the Department of Nursing Services, Staff Education & Training, CSN & the Medical Clinic
  • Develops & oversees the implementation of the nursing department goals, objectives, policies & procedures
  • Assures compliance with the standards, rules, & regulations set by COBH, Ohio Department of Behavioral Health (DBH), & accrediting body agencies (i.e., The Joint Commission [TJC], Medicare [CMS])
  • Conducts clinical evaluations & reviews to assure appropriateness of patient care/services
  • Develops & oversees the implementation of nursing department competency programs, develops & directs Performance Improvement (PI) initiatives for nursing & aligns those activities with organization’s PI program
  • Develops & assures consistent compliance with nursing staffing models/patterns
  • Supervises Assistant Director of Nursing, Clinical Nurse Managers, & Nurse Supervisors
  • Attends & functions as chairperson to hospital committees & meetings as assigned

This is an hourly position and is exempt from the bargaining units
, with a pay range of 17 on the E1 Exempt Pay Range Schedule
. Normal working hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm (Flexible Schedule).
