Overview: DAY shift 0.6-0.9 FTE 24-36 hours per week
Job Description
Summary:
Monitors and records data from medical equipment to ensure proper functioning and patient safety. Responsible for equipment maintenance.
- Maintain appropriate heart rhythm tracing.
- Recognizes normal heart rhythm, artifact, and life threatening heart rhythms.
- Respond to all monitor alarms, report heart rhythm changes to RN or MD promptly.
- Clean, maintain, and inventory all equipment associated with cardiac monitors and other equipment as assigned.
- Precepts new employees, ability to educate other employees on correct usage of both telemetry and bedside monitors.
High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
Licensure Requirement:(not specified)
Certifications:Current CPR certification (BLS-Health Care Provider), required.
Skills:Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to identify abnormal rhythms and or changes in rhythms preferred.
Experience:Previous health care experience as a Nursing Assistant, Unit Coordinator, Medical Assistant, nursing student, EMT, Medic or experience with cardiology patients, required.
