About the Opportunity:
This is a full-time contract position for a Physician Assistant specializing in Cardiovascular PCU. The primary focus is managing patients admitted to the Progressive Care Unit, with a strong emphasis on cardiovascular experience. The role involves collaborating with cardiovascular and transplant surgeons, overseeing medically and surgically complex patients after cardiac and thoracic procedures, and managing postoperative care. Procedures include removing chest tubes, temporary epicardial lacing wires, and temporary drains, as well as handling wound care.
The schedule consists of day shifts, three 12-hour shifts per week, and includes weekends. Patient volume typically maintains a ratio of 1:10, with a potential increase to 1:12.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $130.42 to $154.13 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:- Conduct assessments and create care plans for cardiovascular patients.
- Provide postoperative care, including hemodynamic optimization, fluid balance, and arrhythmia management.
- Collaborate with cardiovascular and transplant surgeons to coordinate patient care.
- Monitor and document patient progress in postoperative recovery.
- Manage anticoagulation, blood pressure, glycemic levels, and nutrition optimization.
