Cardiology Technician

• Works under the direction of the Non-Invasive Diagnostics Supervisor and the Service Line Administrator for The Heart Center.
• Performs diagnostic testing procedures provided by the Non-Invasive Diagnostics Department, including EKG and Rhythm Strip, Holter and Zio Monitoring, and 30 Day Event Monitoring.
• Directly supports daily clinic functions with patient testing needs and additional responsibilities within outpatient and inpatient modalities.
• Assists providers in conducting diagnostic tests within clinic, inpatient, and outpatient areas.
• Prepares for testing and explains testing procedures at different levels based on patient age.
• Accurately records information obtained from diagnostic tests and provides quality reports to ordering providers.
• Communicates compassionately and effectively with patients and caregivers.
• Collaborates across boundaries with teamwork-related behaviors.
• Assists with clerical responsibilities such as billing and auditing, cleaning and disinfecting equipment, and answering the telephone.

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• BLS, required.
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with patients of all ages (pediatric to adult).
• Ability to function with flexibility and adaptability to an ever changing and fast paced environment.
• One year of healthcare related experience, preferred.
• Ability to perform the listed physical requirements, including handling biohazard waste, chemicals/medications, communicable diseases/pathogens, patient equipment, lifting/carrying, pushing/pulling, standing, walking, and repetitive hand/arm use.

Demonstrates proficiency in performing diagnostic testing procedures such as EKG, Holter Monitoring, and 30 Day Event Monitoring while effectively communicating with patients and collaborating with healthcare teams. Capable of managing clerical responsibilities and adapting to a fast-paced healthcare environment.
