Medical Science Liaison, Oncology (Breast/Gyn Focus) – Great Lakes Responsibilities
- Engage in continuous learning to maintain technical expertise in the assigned therapeutic area.
- Provide unbiased, accurate, up-to-date medical/scientific information requested by customers.
- Spend the majority of time on customer-facing activities; serve as primary interface between Lilly medical and SEs/CEs.
- Connect SEs/CEs with Lilly resources/internal partners; facilitate collaborative research and external opportunities.
- Demonstrate strategic analysis, planning, prioritization; implement and evaluate a strategic territory plan.
- Take personal accountability for results; use territory analytics for customer identification and routing.
- Synthesize and communicate actionable customer/clinical insights to internal and cross-functional teams.
- Use sound judgment, and collaborate across functions.
- Advanced degree in health sciences (e.g., PharmD, MD, PhD in a medically related field) required; 2–3 years relevant clinical or therapeutic area experience desired.
- Master’s or bachelor’s degree in health sciences considered if 5+ years clinical, research, or industry experience in relevant therapeutic area.
- Valid US driver’s license and acceptable driving record required.
- Authorized to work in the US full-time;
Lilly does not sponsor visas.
- Breast/gynecology oncology experience strongly preferred; hospital or outpatient patient experience.
- Live in Detroit, Cleveland, or Cincinnati area with access to a large hub airport.
- Travel overnight up to 50–70%; work 4–6 weekends per year.
- Intellectual curiosity; ability to comprehend and communicate complex scientific content clearly.
- Experience servicing customer needs; working with demanding clients.
- Strong self-management, multitasking, teamwork/interpersonal skills; advanced presentation and computer skills; literature identification/evaluation.
- Professional networking experience; field-based environment experience; familiarity with academic community/medical education.
- Anticipated wage: $151,500–$244,200; may be eligible for a company bonus.
