Medical Assistant, Work & Community Services Goodwill Columbus – Work & Community ServicesPay: Starting at $26.00 per hour
Schedule: Daytime hours M-F, weekends or evening on occasion.
Employment Type: Full-time, Hourly

As a Medical Assistant within our Work & Community Services team, you'll support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities as they build independence, confidence, meaningful relationships, and community connections. You'll play an important role in promoting health, safety, dignity, and quality of life every day.
What You'll DoIn this role, you will:
- Administer medications and approved health-related activities according to Ohio DODD certification requirements, nursing delegation, and agency policy.
- Monitor the health and well-being of individuals served and communicate concerns to the Registered Nurse and support team.
- Maintain accurate medication, health, and service documentation.
- Support individuals with personal care, mobility, daily living activities, and community participation.
- Partner with nurses, direct support professionals, family members, guardians, and community providers to coordinate services and follow-up care.
- Use person-centered approaches that encourage independence, confidence, skill development, and community engagement.
- Help maintain a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for individuals served.
You are:
- Compassionate, patient, and respectful

- Comfortable balancing multiple responsibilitiesA strong communicator who works well with others
- Able to stay calm and make sound decisions in changing situations
- Passionate about supporting people with disabilities and helping them achieve their goals
- Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications
- Current Medication Administration certification(s) or ability to obtain and maintain required certifications
- Ability to complete and maintain required training and certifications
- Ability to accurately document services and health-related information
- Associate degree in a developmental disabilities-related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Experience with person-centered planning, behavior supports, healthcare support, or community-based services
This is an active role that includes:
- Supporting individuals with personal care, mobility, and daily living needs
- Medication administration and health-related activities
- Documentation and recordkeeping
- Working both indoors and in community settings
- Regular interaction with individuals, families, healthcare professionals, and support teams
- A schedule where dependable attendance is important to maintaining quality services and participant safety
