Position: MRI Safety Technician - MRI (Evenings)

Overview Schedule

  • Approximately 20 hours/week spread out over 3-4 days in shifts of 4-6 hours
  • M-F availability, 12:00 pm to 11:00 pm required.
Job Description Summary

Ensures safety of patients and staff during MRI procedures by screening and monitoring for contraindications and maintaining equipment.

Job Description Essential Functions
  • Maintains security around the entrance to each magnet.
  • Ensures that no person enters Zone 3 without proper screening for ferrous objects. Uses metal detection devices as warranted to detect ferrous objects.
  • Actively participates in the responsibility for MR safety of each patient and other employees.
  • Follows Radiation, MR, and general safety policies.
  • Complies with radiology, state, federal, and other regulatory guidelines, and policies.
  • Represents the department's customer service focus for both internal and external contacts.
Education Requirement
  • High school graduate, required.
  • Currently enrolled in healthcare related field of study, preferred.
Licensure Requirement

Certifications
  • Current CPR Certification, preferred.
Skills

High level of professionalism and ability to establish good rapport with patients and staff.

Experience

Healthcare or clinical experience, preferred.
