JOB DESCRIPTION - PAY RATE -$35/HOUR
Position: Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) – Travel Contract
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Job Type: Travel/Contract
Start Date: October 19, 2026
Assignment Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: Night – 3x12s, 6:00 PM–6:30 AM
Experience Required: 3+ Years – Hard Stop
Pay Rate: $35/hour
Weekly Pay: $1,260/week
Travel Experience: Not Required
- Perform decontamination of surgical and medical equipment, including drills, Da Vinci instruments, and scopes.
- Assemble instruments across multiple service lines, including trauma, loaners, and peel packaging.
- Perform sterilization using STERRAD and steam processes.
- Perform High-Level Disinfection (HLD) and scope processing.
- Manage sterile storage and inventory.
- Serve as an OR Liaison when required.
- Use the Censi Trac tracking system for instrument tracking and documentation.
- Float to other locations within the OSU system as needed.
- Minimum 3 years of Sterile Processing experience – HARD STOP
- Teaching Hospital experience required
- Trauma experience required
- CRCST or CBSPD certification required
- Strong experience with decontamination, assembly, sterilization, HLD, scopes, sterile storage, OR liaison duties, and Censi Trac.
- Travel experience is not required.
- 3x12-hour night shifts
- Friday–Sunday
- 6:00 PM–6:30 AM
- May be required to float to other OSU locations
- Previous OSU employees and travelers are not eligible, regardless of previous performance.
- Candidates who live within a 50-mile radius of the facility are not eligible.

Position: Sterile Processing Tech (SPT) Team Lead – Travel Contract
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Job Type: Travel/Contract
Start Date: October 19, 2026
Assignment Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: Night – 5x8s, 11:00 PM–7:30 AM, Monday–Friday
Experience Required: 4 Years
Pay Rate: $47/hour
Weekly Pay: $1,880/week
Travel Experience: Not Required
First-Time Travelers: Accepted
- Minimum 4 years of Sterile Processing experience
- Previous leadership or charge experience required
- Level I Trauma experience required
- HSPA (IAHCSMM) or CBSPD certification required
- First-time travelers accepted
- Travel experience not required
- Must be comfortable working in a teaching hospital environment
- May be required to float between OSU locations
- Lead daily sterile processing operations and support department workflow.
- Coordinate preparation, decontamination, sterilization, assembly, packaging, and distribution of surgical instruments and supplies.
- Ensure instrumentation is properly cleaned, sterilized, functional, and ready for patient use.
- Support quality initiatives, inventory management, and regulatory compliance.
- Mentor staff and assist with workflow coordination.
- Utilize Censi Trac and other documentation systems for instrument tracking and quality standards.
- 5x8-hour night shifts
- 11:00 PM–7:30 AM
- Monday–Friday
- Occasional holidays
- Floating may be required between OSU locations.
- Previous permanent OSU staff and return travelers are not eligible for this assignment.
- Candidates who have previously worked at any location within the OSU system may be ineligible.
- Travelers who reach the one-year maximum contract limit are not eligible for extensions or future assignments.
- Candidates residing within a 50-mile radius of the facility are not eligible.
