Position Overview

The Division of Rehabilitation Psychology in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at The Ohio State University is seeking to hire two Rehabilitation Psychologists. The role will primarily involve providing individual psychotherapy to optimize adjustment and coping for patients with acquired disabilities from neurologic conditions or musculoskeletal injuries. Outpatient opportunities include treating adults diagnosed with cancer, functional neurological disorders, amputation, and burn injury.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct clinical evaluations and assessments.
  • Provide individual and/or group psychotherapy utilizing current DSM-5 classifications.
  • Engage in teaching and training, including supervision of post-doctoral fellows and residents.
  • Participate in research projects and scholarly activities.
  • Serve on departmental and hospital committees, represent the program at professional meetings, and engage in community outreach.
  • Practice within the established Medical Center standards and policies.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of an APA-accredited doctoral program in clinical or counseling psychology and an APA-accredited internship.
  • Post-doctoral fellowship training in a healthcare or rehabilitation/medical setting is preferred.
  • Board certified or eligible in Rehabilitation Psychology or Clinical Neuropsychology.
  • Strong interest in academic medicine.
  • Faculty rank will correspond to the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check. A drug screen or physical may be required during the post-offer process.
