Director, Center Cancer Survivorship- Faculty; Division of Cancer Prevention and Control

Tenure faculty (regardless of rank) - persons with the titles of professor, associate professor, assistant professor and instructor who serve on appointments totaling 50% or more service to the university and who are eligible for tenure or who have obtained tenure. Duties and responsibilities are assigned in accordance with the workload guidelines laid out in the pattern of administration of each faculty member’s tenure initiation unit (TIU) and, as appropriate, regional campus;

obligations will include research, service and/or teaching or clinical practice. These faculty will have earned doctorate or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study or possession of equivalent experience.

The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute is establishing a new Center for Cancer Survivorship dedicated to becoming a national leader in survivorship research, education, community engagement, and policy advancement. The Center will build upon Ohio State's longstanding strengths in cancer prevention and control, behavioral science, implementation science, health services research, and population health to create a coordinated enterprise focused exclusively on improving outcomes for cancer survivors and their caregivers.

Cancer survivorship represents one of the most significant and rapidly growing challenges in oncology. Advances in prevention, early detection, and treatment have resulted in a continually expanding population of cancer survivors who face complex physical, psychological, social, financial, and healthcare system challenges throughout their lives. Survivorship care requires innovative research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and effective implementation of evidence‑based interventions to address these needs.

The Center for Cancer Survivorship will serve as a multidisciplinary hub that brings together investigators, clinicians, trainees, healthcare professionals, patients, caregivers, community organizations, and policy leaders to advance survivorship science and transform survivorship care delivery. The Center will leverage Ohio State's nationally recognized expertise in cancer control research and community engagement to improve quality of life, reduce disparities, enhance long‑term outcomes, and create scalable models of survivorship care that can be implemented nationally and globally.

The Center will focus on several strategic domains, including:

• Symptom management and supportive care
• Behavioral intervention science
• Digital health and remote monitoring
• Health equity and survivorship disparities
• Implementation and dissemination science
• Patient‑reported outcomes
• Caregiver and family support
• Rural and underserved populations
• Healthcare delivery and survivorship care models
• Workforce development and training
• Population health and survivorship policy

The Center will serve as a flagship initiative within the Department of Population Sciences and the Division of Cancer Prevention and Control and will establish Ohio State as one of the nation's premier institutions for cancer survivorship research and practice.
