About the Role:
Seeking a detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician. This position requires maintaining a clean, compliant central processing area and strictly adhering to sterilization standards, manufacturer instructions, and safety protocols.
Type:Full Time
Location:On-site in Columbus, OH 43213
Shift:Monday - Friday 7:00AM - 4:00PM
Pay:$19-22/hr
Qualifications:- Experience:
1 year of experience minimum - Knows operating room instrumentation and equipment, has familiarity with sterile areas, including use of PPE
- Has organized in setting up operating room instrument trays
- Education:
High school diploma or equivalent - Technical
Skills:
Operates sterilizers and washers, conducts biological/chemical monitoring, logs results, and handles cycle or indicator failures appropriately - Certifications & Knowledge:
Sterile Processing Tech certification preferred. Keeps central processing clean, maintains strict separation of clean/dirty zones, and safely transports items in labeled biohazard containers
- Decontamination & Reprocessing:
Cleans, disinfects, sterilizes, and mixes solutions according to manufacturer instructions and industry standards - Inspects instruments for damage under magnification, lubricates as needed, verifies working condition, and arranges and wraps trays per policy
- Equipment Operation & Monitoring:
Operates sterilizers and washers, conducts biological/chemical monitoring, logs results, and handles cycle or indicator failures appropriately - Labels sterilized items, checks package integrity and expiration dates, maintains tray inventories, and tracks loaned/returned instruments
- Safely transports biohazardous items in labeled biohazard containers and maintains strict separation of clean/dirty zones
- Assists with Operating Room turnovers and completes required ongoing education
