Clinical Educator​/Staff RN- Medical Surgical Women's Pavilion

This position will work directly with Women's Health Leadership team to provide designated clinical unit(s) with educational support, including needs assessments, execute on project work within the care site in the areas of process improvement, quality improvement, evidence-based practice and communication. The NPD practitioner demonstrates expertise in the identified roles: learning facilitator, change agent, mentor, leader, champion for scientific inquiry, advocate for NPD specialty and partner for practice transitions.

Responsibilities include onboarding/orientation, competency management, education, professional role development, collaborative partnerships, research, evidenced based practice, and quality improvement. Assists in the design of education based on educational standards, evidenced based practice and Ohio Health policy. This role is 24 hours in Clinical Education and is meant to be paired with a 12-hour Staff RN role in the new Women's Health Pavilion Medical Surgical Unit, SSU, specialty post-partum population.

An ideal candidate for this role has ICU or intermediate experience. TOTAL weekly FTE for this role: 36 hours.

Collaborates with education, unit and campus leadership to identify educational opportunities related to regulatory the requirements Collaborates with unit, campus and system committees within the service line to individualize staff education needs resulting from: new equipment, processes, policies, procedures, Uses Evidenced Based Assessment techniques or instruments to define potential opportunities (formal needs assessment, ADDIE).

Coordinates implementation of an educational plan, including activities and resources necessary to achieve desired outcomes Creates and implements strategies for seamless transitions to practice and between practice settings Interacts with new hire, preceptor and unit leadership team to enhance personal practice and enculturation to the organization Competency management Assesses knowledge, skill and practice gaps Assess knowledge through methods and models of adult learning theory in coordination with Association of Nurse Professional Development and Ohio Health learner reference tools.

Performs Needs Assessment of skills, practice and professionalism through observation of practice, simulation, multi-faceted feedback from team members and leadership Creates and conducts initial and ongoing assessment of learning and safe practice Ensures use of evidence based clinical guidelines for validation of safe practice Seeks outcomes data in collaboration with unit leadership and quality teams to support the measure of significance ineffective education interventions.
