Valet Driver – Blackwell Inn, Columbus
Starting Pay: $15–$18 per hour, potential with cash tips daily. No experience needed.
Work schedule: All shifts; weekdays, weekends, holidays. Full-time or part-time.

SummaryThe Guest Service Associate is responsible for providing exceptional hospitality services to guests in an attentive, friendly and efficient manner. The Associate parks and retrieves guest vehicles promptly and safely, assists guests with luggage, and delivers and picks up luggage during arrival and departure.
Essential Functions- Maintains a pleasant, friendly and professional demeanor with all guests, co‑workers, and clients. Greets guests within five feet with a professional and friendly demeanor. Uses guests’ last names during interactions.
- Uses salutation of the day and welcomes guests to the location. Practices Towne Park phone etiquette. Posts up in designated areas when not completing tasks.
- Parks and retrieves vehicles while driving slowly and cautiously. Assists guests with bell services and luggage storage as needed. Opens all vehicle and hotel doors for guests.
- Assists guests with directions, taxis, reservations and other inquiries. Provides guests with information about outlets, meeting rooms and/or amenities of the facility as well as main attractions in the area. Delivers messages, items and guest amenities as requested. Shuttles guests to appropriate places approved by the location.
- Explains parking rates and retrieval procedures to guests upon arrival. Issues claim checks after receiving vehicle keys and collects claim checks from all guests prior to issuing keys. Consistently completes and maintains all ticket information including key tag, guest folio, location of vehicle, damage survey and claim check receipt from all vehicles taken into the valet system. Calculates and collects revenue for vehicles when needed.
- Education: High school diploma or GED, required.
- Licensure: Must hold a valid driver’s license for the state in which you are applying.
- Work Experience: One (1) month related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge: Principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
- Skills: Ability to read and write standard English; comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos; write simple correspondence; present information in one‑to‑one and small‑group situations to guests, clients and employees; add and subtract three‑digit numbers; perform arithmetic with 10’s and 100’s; understand 24‑hour and military time systems; understand rates applicable to time passed; operate a manual transmission; perform parallel parking.
The job is fairly routine. Incumbent follows established practices and procedures. Duties are performed with specific directions given and work is checked or verified on a frequent basis. Decisions are made within specific operational instructions and departmental guidelines. Errors in judgment could affect the smooth and efficient operation of the department.
Working Conditions & Physical DemandsThe majority of work will be performed outdoors for extended periods, including up to the full duration of shift. Employees are subject to environmental conditions such as extreme heat and cold weather. The role may require running, walking, handling or feeling objects, tools or controls; reaching with hands and arms; climbing stairs; balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling. Visual requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Lifting may involve up to 100 pounds occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, or up to 20 pounds constantly.
Travel up to 5% may be required.
