Position: Seasonal Talent Acquisition Coordinator ONSITE, Columbus - Full Time

Job Overview

The Talent Acquisition Coordinator introduces job candidates and new colleagues to Macy's as they apply, interview, and begin their employment, and oversees a variety of administrative functions. Full‑time colleagues are typically scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week, while part‑time colleagues are typically scheduled 12‑24 hours per week. Hours are dependent on business needs and colleague availability. Information regarding hours per week needed for benefit eligibility purposes can be found in the attached documentation.

What

You Will Do
  • Identify hiring needs by reviewing reports and building relationships with local leaders and centralized partners.
  • Post and maintain open positions on internal and external job boards; collaborate with partners to complete job templates in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
  • Manage candidates through the ATS, assisting with recruitment activities such as interview scheduling, job fair coordination, and candidate greetings.
  • Partner with Recruitment Operations and People Leaders to coordinate screening, interview calendars, and scheduling logistics.
  • Assist with pre‑employment processes, including ordering and monitoring background checks and drug screenings; provide status updates to People Leaders and candidates.
  • Schedule new hire start dates, notify People Leaders, and oversee the completion of new hire paperwork, orientation, and badge issuance.
  • Provide new hires with resources on benefits, tax forms, direct deposit, and AskHR; facilitate payment for time spent on onboarding activities as needed.
  • Manage job postings and candidate disposition when new hires do not report as scheduled.
  • Obtain systems access for new hires and forward completed files to Colleague Services per company standards.
  • Input and maintain colleague data, including status changes, transfers, promotions, and corrections.
  • Participate in compliance audits, including I‑9 reverifications and required postings.
  • Respond to information requests from Colleague Advisors and forward appropriate file details.
  • Assist People Leaders with attendance tracking and facilitate final pay documentation for exempt and non‑exempt colleagues.
  • Maintain regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.

Skills You Will Need
  • Recruitment Operations: Demonstrated ability to manage end‑to‑end recruitment processes, including job postings, interview coordination, candidate tracking, and onboarding activities using an Applicant Tracking System.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly convey information, build relationships, and maintain open and continuous communication with candidates, People Leaders, and cross‑functional partners.
  • Organization and Attention to Detail: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accurate records, and ensure timely completion of tasks related to hiring, onboarding, and colleague data management.
  • Collaboration: Proven ability to partner effectively with local leaders, centralized HR teams, and recruitment operations to align on hiring needs, coordinate efforts, and deliver a seamless candidate experience.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and the ability to quickly learn and navigate HR systems, scheduling tools, and onboarding platforms.
  • Customer Service Orientation: Strong focus on providing a positive, supportive experience for candidates and new hires by responding promptly to inquiries and guiding them through pre‑employment and onboarding processes.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to think critically and proactively resolve issues related to hiring, scheduling, onboarding, or data entry while maintaining a solution‑oriented mindset.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment with the flexibility to shift priorities and schedules based on evolving business needs.
