Abuse Refuge Org (ARO) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3). We focus our best efforts and practices to assist and help those abused by aiding in 7 major areas of abuse to include:
Sexual, Physical, Narcissistic, Psychological, Financial, Child, and Self-abuse.
ARO is seeking an energetic HR Coordinator with strong writing and communication skills. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who wants to be on the ground floor of something bigger than themselves and is a valuable unpaid volunteer experience that could lead to full-time employment. You will be supporting the HR team.
Responsibilities and Duties- Schedule and conduct interviews with candidates.
- Assist Supervisor with a variety of onboarding tasks, including emailing new hires, scheduling onboarding calls, monitoring the progress of new hires, and communicating expectations.
- Work with Supervisor and HR to organize, streamline, and assist with the onboarding process for new hires.
- Communicate company and job details to the new hires and provide additional information as requested by Supervisor.
- Introduce new hires to their Tribe, detail their initial tasks, and answer any queries.
- Ensure new hires have the necessary technical assistance to set up their hardware and software.
- Maintain and organize information received during onboarding into corresponding folders.
- Maintain a respectful relationship with staff and other volunteers.
- Perform other appropriate tasks or duties as requested by Supervisor.
- Respond to inquiries, phone calls, and e-mails in a timely and responsive manner.
- Attend and conduct meetings virtually.
- Be available to work 8‑10+ hours/week.
- Be a self-starter with excellent time management skills.
- Possess a collaborative way of working.
- Maintain strict confidentiality.
- Behave professionally in manner and appearance.
- Be consistently organized and flexible.
- A team player with demonstrated experience working with multiple groups or departments.
- Competent experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Complex knowledge of procedures, practices, and policies.
- Ability to anticipate and critically think through problems.
