The Human Resources Division is seeking a Talent Management Coordinator to support and advance our agency’s talent strategy. This role will be responsible for creating job postings, representing the department at job fairs and recruitment events, interviewing candidates, and supporting onboarding activities to ensure an engaging and seamless new ‑ hire experience. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail ‑ oriented, and passionate about attracting and developing top talent for public service.

What you’ll be doing

Support full ‑ cycle recruitment for the Ohio Department of Development, including drafting job postings, posting vacancies, tracking recruitment progress, and completing pre ‑ hire onboarding tasks.

Coordinate background checks, drug screenings, onboarding logistics, and communication with managers, IT, and HR staff.

Update job specifications, develop interview criteria, create proficiency tests, conduct interviews, and make hiring and reference ‑ check recommendations.

Serve as lead for intern hiring and classified position recruitment.

Process personnel actions in OAKS, ensuring accuracy, documentation, and correct approvals for hires, promotions, resignations, step increases, leaves, and disciplinary actions.

Respond to employment ‑ related inquiries from ODOD staff, other agencies, and the public; provide status updates on personnel requests.

Maintain reports and manage HR data using tools such as Excel, Business Intelligence, OAKS, and Salesforce.

Assist and support additional HR functions including labor relations, training, employee programs, and counseling.
