We are looking for a Director of Master Data to work for our client. The ideal candidate aligns with the responsibilities and qualifications outlined below.

Our client is seeking a Director of Master Data for a hybrid role based in Columbus, Ohio. This senior leadership position is responsible for overseeing enterprise master data governance, ensuring data accuracy and consistency, and developing the standards, policies, and processes that support high‑quality master data across the organization.

The ideal candidate is a strategic, analytical leader with deep experience in master data management (MDM), enterprise data strategy, and cross‑functional collaboration across IT, finance, operations, and executive leadership.

The Director of Master Data will lead the creation, enhancement, and execution of master data strategies across multiple domains, including customer, vendor, product, materials, financial structures, and organizational entities. This role oversees data integrity, governance, standards, and system alignment while supporting major business initiatives such as system integrations, ERP enhancements, and enterprise transformation projects.

• Lead enterprise‑wide master data governance, including structures, hierarchies, and standards
• Develop and execute master data strategy aligned with business and technology needs
• Define policies, processes, and controls to ensure high‑quality master data
• Manage data stewardship, validation, lifecycle maintenance, and exception handling
• Oversee data quality metrics, audits, and improvement initiatives
• Collaborate with IT, finance, supply chain, procurement, and business leaders to align data requirements
• Support and drive master data components of ERP initiatives (SAP, D365, Oracle, Infor, etc.)
• Lead process improvement efforts to enhance data governance, workflow automation, and efficiency
• Ensure compliance with data standards and support enterprise transformation projects
• Manage, coach, and develop a high‑performing master data team

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, Data Management, or related field
• 10+ years of experience in master data management, data governance, or enterprise data roles
• Proven experience overseeing master data domains in complex or multi‑entity environments
• Strong knowledge of ERP systems, including SAP, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Oracle, or comparable platforms
• Experience developing data governance frameworks and leading cross‑functional data initiatives
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence executives and business partners
• Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills
