Data Engineer

Scion Technology has been engaged to conduct a search for an experienced Data Engineer for our client, the leading manufacturer of strength and conditioning equipment in Columbus, OH!
This is a full-time, direct hire position based onsite in Columbus.

As a Data Engineer, you will serve as the backbone of the backend data architecture, owning key components of the Google Cloud environment. You'll design, develop and maintain efficient data pipelines that support reporting, analysis and AI initiatives. Collaborating closely with analytics and development teams, you'll ensure data integrity, accessibility, and usability to empower strategic decision‑making.

• Design, develop and maintain scalable, reliable data pipelines, addressing quality and transformation issues.
• Ingest data from multiple sources into the data lake using GCP services like Big Query, Cloud Functions, and Cloud Scheduler.
• Collaborate with teams to understand business needs and prepare optimized datasets for reporting and analysis.
• Lead technical initiatives, including building SDKs, automating workflows, and improving data infrastructure.

• 2-5 years of experience in data engineering with strong SQL, python, Big Query and Python skills.
• Proven ability to design, build, and optimize data pipelines in cloud environments, especially GCP.
• Experience working with diverse data sources, APIs, and large-scale data environments.
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and independent working skills, with a focus on data security.
