Data Engineer

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Database Developer to design, build, and maintain our data infrastructure, ensuring the accuracy, security, and quality of data flows within our pharmacy environment. This pivotal role involves optimizing data architecture and developing robust ETL pipelines by collaborating with our Pharmacy Analytics and Application Development teams.

• Data Architecture & Modeling: Design and implement scalable database and data warehousing solutions (e.g., data lakes, star schemas) to support analytics, reporting, and machine learning initiatives.
• ETL Pipeline Development: Develop, optimize, and monitor robust ETL/ELT workflows to ingest data from diverse sources, such as clinical codes for drugs (ATC), diagnoses (ICD), and other healthcare-specific terminologies.
• Database Management: Conduct regular performance tuning, optimize complex SQL queries, and implement backup/recovery strategies to ensure data reliability and minimize downtime.
• Data Quality & Governance: Implement rigorous data validation, cleansing procedures, and quality checks at each stage of the pipeline, ensuring data integrity and adherence to industry regulations.
• Collaboration: Work closely with Pharmacy analysts and Application Development team to translate complex data requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Automation & Monitoring: Automate data integration and transformation tasks, implement monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve issues, and establish CI/CD pipelines for production deployment.

• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Experience: At least 7 years of proven experience in data engineering, database management, and building complex data pipelines, preferably within the pharmacy or healthcare industry.

• Languages: Expert proficiency in SQL and strong programming skills in Python and C#.
• Databases: Hands-on experience with SQL Server, Mongo, and data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, AWS Redshift, Azure Synapse).
• Cloud Platforms: Experience with Azure.
• Tools: Familiarity with orchestration tools like N8N or Air Flow.
• Domain Knowledge: Understanding of healthcare data standards and regulatory compliance requirements (HIPAA, GxP) is highly desirable.
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
