Job DescriptionAs a Solution Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, configuring, and supporting the development environments and tool chains used to create AI/ML solutions ’ll help establish secure and governed practices, set up scalable development patterns, and work hand-in-hand with data scientists and engineers to remove friction from the build-to-deploy lifecycle.
What You’ll Do Platform & Environment Enablement- Configure, develop in, and support AI/ML platforms including Sagemaker, Azure AI Foundry, Databricks, etc.
- Help establish secure, governed patterns for building AI solutions.
- Create reusable templates and tools that simplify development.
- Support onboarding and integration of AI/ML workflow engines (e.g., Open Shift) and model registries (e.g., Bedrock)
- Ensure environments and tools meet usability and reliability needs.
- Assist teams with best practices for reproducibility and code management.
- Build and maintain practical pipelines and deployment workflows.
- Support packaging, versioning, and basic model monitoring.
- Help integrate solutions with existing AEP platforms and services.
- Partner with data scientists, analysts, and IT teams to remove technical barriers.
- Stay current with emerging practices to improve AEP’s AI development ecosystem.
- Experience working in and configuring cloud environments (Azure, AWS).
- Familiarity with AI/ML development workflows and tools (e.g., Databricks, MLflow, containerized dev environments).
- Working knowledge of MLOps concepts (model packaging, deployment patterns, experiment tracking, monitoring).
- Understanding of security and governance fundamentals — IAM/RBAC, secrets management, auditability, policy enforcement.
- Basic experience with CI/CD or automation tools (Terraform, help, Git Hub Actions)
- Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical partners.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to support others in navigating technical challenges.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, data science, or a related technical field.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in solution engineering, platform engineering, software development, cloud infrastructure, or MLOps related work. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
