Specialist, Technology Analyst; Data & Analytics Platforms

Overview

Nationwide is seeking a Technology Analyst within the Enterprise Data Office (EDO) to support the enterprise business intelligence, reporting, and data preparation platform engineering team (Scrummybears). This role focuses on supporting the operation, adoption, and continuous improvement of enterprise data preparation and reporting platforms, including Dataiku, Power BI, Tableau, and related enterprise tools.

The Technology Analyst will partner with the business to understand needs and outcomes, translate them into solution requirements, and work across solution approaches and domains (data warehouses, web, cloud). This role is involved in work from minor defect fixes to development of new applications and may engage in various solution approaches (custom development, package implementation).

This position does not qualify for employer-sponsored work authorization. Nationwide does not participate in the Stem OPT Extension program.

Typical reporting relationships:
Reports to Technology Manager or Director.

• Partners with the business and other technology professionals to understand business needs and outcomes.
• Translates multiple business outcomes into solution requirements.
• Applies secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to protect data and technology solutions from threats and vulnerabilities.
• Executes moderate requirements and ensures business alignment using facilitation and visual management techniques.
• Documents and clarifies requirements work products.
• Provides mid-level analysis related to understanding and meeting business outcomes.
• Verifies, traces, and manages functional and non-functional requirements.
• Understands applications used to support the business in specified Business Solution Areas.
• Contributes to quality improvements by performing complex data analysis.
• Manages the complete requirements lifecycle from idea through implementation.
• Leads or partners to facilitate requirement sessions with business leaders and other technology professionals using visual facilitation techniques.

• Education:
  
  Undergraduate studies in computer science, MIS, or related field preferred.
• License/Certification:
  Technology certifications or designations are not required but encouraged.
• Experience:
  
  Six years of relevant work experience including software delivery or educational experience within a technology domain. Experience delivering technology and/or business solutions across industries, platforms, and lines of business (LOB) within insurance and/or financial services preferred. Demonstrated capability in managing the requirements lifecycle, including facilitation, elicitation, and documenting requirements.

  Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to influence, negotiate, and set priorities. Insurance/financial services knowledge a plus.
