** lines. The Advanced Analytics and Risk Selection Team delivers intelligent, actionable analytics, AI, and risk selection solutions that power competitive advantage.
** Role Overview
** Lead a technically skilled team focused on uncovering insights from complex data to drive underwriting precision and risk selection excellence. This role demands deep analytical expertise, hands-on data exploration, and the ability to translate raw data into scalable, high-impact solutions.
** Key Responsibilities
*** Lead technical execution of data exploration, feature engineering, predictive modeling, and AI use case development.
* Build and guide high-performing product teams to incubate analytic use cases, assess business impact, and deliver solutions on time and within scope.
* Own end-to-end delivery of analytical solutions: from opportunity identification to production readiness, governance, and benefit realization.
* Design and manage data-centric projects aligned with underwriting and risk selection objectives.
* Translate complex datasets and business problems into actionable insights and consumable deliverables.
* Evaluate internal and external data sources to proactively identify emerging trends and opportunities.
* Drive continuous improvement through new analytic product builds and capability uplift initiatives.
** Technical Expertise & Skills
*** Advanced proficiency in statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and AI methodologies.
* Strong hands-on experience with data wrangling, visualization, and model deployment.
* Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for business stakeholders.
* Skilled in root cause analysis, problem synthesis, and solution design.
* Proven ability to mentor and coach technical talent, fostering team engagement and growth.
* Strategic thinker with a pulse on emerging technologies in AI and analytics.
** Experience Requirements
*** 7+ years of experience in analytics, data science, or technical project leadership.
* Demonstrated success in executing data-driven projects using agile and continuous improvement methodologies.
* Strong cross-functional collaboration and change leadership experience.
* Familiarity with Nationwide’s Commercial and Excess, Surplus & Specialty products and services is a plus.
