NOTE: The lists below are not ranked in order of importance and are subject to change based on the district's needs.
Essential Functions- Understanding of implementation of key networking principles; DHCP, DNS, NAC, VPN, firewall, security, routing protocols, subnets, VLANs, WANs, wireless LANs, dual ISP, multicast, unicast, POE, VOIP, and Radius Server
- Experience with Aruba networking equipment and troubleshooting the district wireless system
- Understanding of Active Directory, Filewave, or other MDM tools, and Google Apps for Education
- Experience with server technologies, vSphere, Windows Server, and Linux
- Monitors and tests the district's disaster recovery/business continuity system
- Manages the district's cybersecurity systems, including, but not limited to, MDR, XDR, EDR, and email security
- Establish and maintain a documented vulnerability management process for enterprise assets
- Establish and maintain a risk-based remediation strategy documented in a remediation process, with monthly or more frequent reviews
- Perform operating system and application updates on enterprise assets through automated patch management on a monthly or more frequent basis
- Manages the district's account provisioning process
- Ability to set priorities and work well under pressure with attention to detail
- Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal direction
- Planning and implementation of new technologies
- Support and management of processes and systems for the 1-1 iPad program, as well as other staff-related Apple Laptops, Apple Desktops, and Windows computers
- Assist in the design and implementation of the Upper Arlington City Schools' Technology Plan
- Coordinates and provides as-needed, active hands-on support and develops systems of efficiency
- Assumes a major responsibility for district-wide technology planning/evaluation
- Assists with the planning and implementation of modern technologies into offices and support personnel areas, such as but not limited to, central office, transportation, secretarial, and food service
- Assists with future planning for district-wide technology
- Such alternatives to the above as deemed appropriate by the Chief Technology Officer or designee
- Reviews and distributes relevant technology-related literature and stays abreast of current technology trends in network and systems administration
- Communicates regularly with the Chief Technology Officer or designee
- Provides direct technical training and assistance to all staff as needed
- Professional-level networking certification from a major vendor, such as CCNP, VCP6-NV, etc., is preferred
- Advanced coursework, certification (CETL), and/or demonstrated experience in administrative technology and network architecture
- Extensive knowledge of Apple-based products within a managed environment
- Must be well organized, have good oral and written communication skills, and have a commitment to customer service
- Experience in a K12 school district setting preferred
- 5-7 years' experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Appropriate dress and standard of good grooming in accordance with the position held and the employee handbook requirements
