Linux Engineer

Agility Partners is seeking qualified applicants to fill an open Linux Engineer position for a multinational chain of fast casual restaurants. They are seeking a highly skilled Linux Engineer to support an immediate AI‑related, customer‑facing project. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting‑edge AI initiatives now, with future expansion into large‑scale restaurant platform projects as part of the company’s ongoing technology innovation efforts.

• Build, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems, primarily Red Hat, but with some exposure to Debian/Ubuntu environments.
• Perform advanced system troubleshooting, diagnostics, and performance tuning.
• Compile and customize Linux kernels as needed to meet project requirements.
• Support AI‑focused customer‑facing initiatives, ensuring system stability, scalability, and security.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to design infrastructure solutions for current and future restaurant‑scale projects.
• Leverage Microsoft Azure cloud services to support Linux environments (if applicable).

The ideal candidate would bring the following:

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• Strong experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux administration and troubleshooting.
• Exposure to Debian/Ubuntu Linux distributions.
• Expertise in building, configuring, and customizing Linux systems, including kernel compilation.
• Deep understanding of Linux system internals, networking, and security practices.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve complex system issues independently.
• Experience deploying and managing Linux environments in Microsoft Azure.
• Prior work on AI/machine learning infrastructure or large‑scale customer‑facing platforms.
• Experience with observability practices.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented, and collaborative environment with minimal guidance.
