Job Description SummaryJob Summary:
Reports to IT Functional Leader and will have no direct reports. Business Analyst role is to elicit, analyze, specify, and validate the business needs of stakeholders, be they customers or end users. This includes leading interviews with stakeholders and gathering and compiling complex user requirements to understand the technology solutions they need. The Business Analyst will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills to help the business make good technology decisions and is able to translate complex information into an easily digestible format.
Portfolio Business Analyst Within Solutions Delivery Will
- Partner with service lines/ departments on roadmaps and intake
- Own Discovery process, including understanding business requirements gathering through identifying necessary resources
- Own Solutions Delivery tools and reporting for Discovery
- Own successful transition from demand to project execution
- Tracking project metrics for continuous improvement
- Portfolio budget and resource planning as needed
Promote a collaborative team environment and provide mentorship to junior‑level analysts.
Requirements Gathering (50%)Shape business requirements by making recommendations and suggesting alternatives to proposed solutions. Translate conceptual user requirements into clear, detailed functional requirements.
- Lead sessions to gather the business requirements with operational and clinical associates.
- Obtain a deep understanding of relevant business area(s) to be able to recommend functional solutions and build high‑quality requirements.
- Understand technical options, limitations, costs, and risks. Communicate tradeoffs to business partners and work with them to shape requirements accordingly.
- Use a variety of techniques to understand business requirements, such as interviews, workshops, surveys, site visits, and storyboards.
- Shape business requirements by making recommendations and suggesting alternatives to proposed solutions.
- Translate complex, conceptual user requirements into clear, detailed functional requirements.
- Able to translate difficult information in a concise and easy to understand language.
- Work with business and delivery teams to prioritize requirements.
- Help resolve competing priorities between stakeholder groups by facilitating stakeholder discussions and escalating issues where appropriate.
