About Lumen

Lumen connects the world. We are igniting business growth by connecting people, data and applications – quickly, securely, and effortlessly. Together, we are building a culture and company from the people up – committed to teamwork, trust and transparency. People power progress.

We’re looking for top-tier talent and offer the flexibility you need to thrive and deliver lasting impact. Join us as we digitally connect the world and shape the future.

The Role

The Data Architect for Lumen’s System Excellence function within STEPN Business Operations is responsible for owning and driving the data strategy for all business operations processes and supporting systems/tools. This role is central to our shift toward a product‑based operating model in which a unified, consistent data language is spoken across operations, and involves collaborating with Operations, Product, Development / Engineering, Architecture, and other stakeholders to create a comprehensive canonical data model and best practices approach for data management, likely to include establishing and implementing a Master Data Management (MDM) solution.

Key responsibilities include translating business needs into data needs, aligning business processes and systems design to support those needs, and then maximizing the value realized from the data throughout the operational lifecycle. Additionally, the Data Architect is tasked with supporting the implementation and maturation of systems and tools that adhere to data standards and leading data governance across multiple operations functions.

The Data Architect will operate as the primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) on data architecture, management, and governance for the STEPN Business Operations organization.

This is a highly collaborative, high‑impact position where you’ll help shape the direction of our data ecosystem. You’ll engage across the organization, drive transformation, and play a key role in defining how data supports our business going forward. We’re looking for someone resilient, energized by challenge, and ready to take ownership of the journey ahead. This is not a role where you inherit a mature ecosystem — it’s a role where you create one.

If you’re excited by the opportunity to build something transformative from the ground up, come join us.
