Job Description SummaryThe Asset Hardware Analyst is responsible for the maintaining and supporting of the end‑to‑end process of information technology (IT) asset management. The process of IT asset management includes the sub‑processes of acquisition, inventory, deployment, upgrade, maintenance, tracking, and resale/disposition of hardware within the organization. The analyst is closely involved in executing the full IT product lifecycle processes to support internal customers and vendors, including self‑maintainer programs, as well as tracking organizational computing device movement.
The analyst also participates in process refinement, budget performance, and report generation for management.
Effectively remove data from all received computing devices in an efficient and organized manner. Communicate concerns with team members regarding these activities. Physically prepare, e.g., clean, upgrade, downgrade, all IT equipment assigned for process advancement in a timely manner. Receive new, redeploy, and resale/disposal IT equipment from procurement vendors, campus hubs, and acquired practices, categorizing and documenting to facilitate accurate asset tracking.
Prepare campus hub transport carts and update documentation for IT product delivery, tickets, projects, and scheduled refresh initiatives.
Support routinely scheduled inventory of IT equipment to ensure accuracy for financial and management forecasting and budgeting. Adhere to governmental laws and corporate policy when handling equipment for redeployment, resale, and disposal. Provide collaborative input to asset processes for continuous improvement, including customer quotes for procurement. Manage the Service Now queue, allocate tickets, and provide timely customer service. Conduct People Soft and vendor research for hardware status updates, documenting in Service Now.
Work with purchasing, accounts payable, and warehouse receiving to maintain accurate enterprise accounting. Review purchase requisitions for accuracy and limit procurement errors. Maintain disposition records and process return material authorizations for warranted devices. Coordinate with IS project management for complex deployments.
Contact procurement vendors to request status on current and back‑order IT products and clarify non‑standard quotes. Schedule resale/disposition vendor pick‑ups, routine reporting, and annual account reviews. Work with device and peripheral vendors to provide timely return material authorizations.
Administrative Support (15%)Attend Asset and Information Services departmental meetings and facilitate asset management staff meetings. Participate in directorial cascade meetings for Ohio Health Leadership Briefings. Keep current on required corporate education and mandatory training. Create and post knowledge base articles to the Service Now CMDB. Support maintenance of the eSource Asset departmental web page. Perform additional duties as requested by supervisor.
Minimum QualificationsHigh School or GED (Required)
ITAM - Information Technology Asset Management certification from the International Association of Information Technology Asset Managers
